Microtech Cypher II D/E Pixel Camo Aluminum, Pixel Camo M390MK by Deryk Munroe i Tony Marfione (1242-1PXC)
- Cypher II D/E Pixel Camo Aluminum, Pixel Camo the result of a collaboration between Deryk Munroe and Tony Marfione has undergone a comprehensive upgrade. An innovative dual blade drive mechanism provides smoother operation than ever before in OTF knives.
Cypher II D/E Pixel Camo Aluminum, Pixel Camo is the second generation of the legendary OTF(Out The Front) created in collaboration between Anthony Marfione and Deryk Monroe. Representing the pinnacle of advanced technology, the Cypher, has undergone a comprehensive upgrade. An innovative dual blade drive mechanism provides smoother operation than ever before in OTF knives.
The redesigned Cypher II introduces a number of improvements that enhance both the aesthetics and functionality of the knife. The stylish jimping provides excellent ergonomics and a secure grip, while the titanium clip with ceramic ball enhances carrying convenience. The screw-free body design, integrated glass striker and improved slide recess give the overall design a sleek, streamlined look. With its size and lightning-fast blade ejection mechanism, the Cypher II sets a new standard, combining Microtech's iconic style with superior utility and precision craftsmanship.
Dual-Fuel Drive Train™ - an upgraded blade opening/closing system, the mechanism works smoother and requires less force to open/close the knife.
Crud Kutter™ - a series of slanted notches under the opening slide, prevents the accumulation of dirt that could interfere with the opening mechanism.
Deryk DC Munroe is the creator of MunroeKnives, who has had a lifelong passion for guns. His roots date back to 1984, and in 1997 he began a full-time career as a knife maker, constantly developing his skills and style. Known for his excellent folding knives, Munroe is collaborating with Tony Marfione on Cypher, the second masterpiece born of their partnership.
M390MK - a collaboration between Microtech and Böhler engineers resulted in an exclusive version of M390 steel made only for Microtech. The carbon content has been increased and subjected to closer scrutiny thus improving the properties of M390 steel for better edge retention, corrosion resistance and polishing. Martensitic high-performance chromium steel produced by powder metallurgy. Due to its alloy concept, it has extremely high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Due to its high wear resistance, it adequately maintains the shape of the edge, so the blade stays sharp for a very long time (requiring minimal maintenance). Another of the advantages is resistance to the formation of “wire” during sharpening. The steel has a high chromium content of 19.0% (Cr) doped with 1.95% carbon (C), vanadium 4.0% (V), and is hardened between 59-61 HRC. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter's CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Blade - machine ground, Dagger D/E (Double Edge) type, sharpened on both sides with a grain line running on both sides of the blade. Coated with a protective coating with a Pixel Camo pattern . The blade is brought out with a high Flat Grind for excellent cutting qualities. The long grain further strengthens the wedge. The strong mechanism of extending / retracting the blade with the help of a moled Thumb Slide, a stepped thumb slide requires for safety the application of a specific force to overcome the resistance of the spring. The method of opening provides seamless opening for both right and left-handed people.
Handle - made with excellent precision in 3D technology on CNC milling machines, from Pixel Camo pattern coated aluminum 6061-T6. The surface texture of the Handle and the deep notches (jimping) on it make the knife non-slip in the hand during use. The slim profile and milled two-position (right/left) solid deep-carry clip allow the knife to be carried discreetly in the pocket, in tip-down (blade tip down) position. Equipped with a smooth rollerball, thanks to which the knife easily slides into the pocket without damaging the edges of the pocket. The Handle is finished with glass breaker, there is also a hole to weave a decorative cord.
