M390 Microclean® - martensitic high-performance chrome steel produced by powder metallurgy. Due to its alloy concept, it is characterized by exceptionally high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Thanks to its high wear resistance, it retains its edge shape, which means that the blade stays sharp for a very long time (requires minimal maintenance). Another advantage is its resistance to “wire” formation during sharpening. High-chromium steel with 20.0% (Cr) and 1.9% carbon (C), 4.0% vanadium (V), hardened to 59-61 HRC, subjected to vacuum and cryogenic treatments and double tempering. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter's CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) blade surface durability is enhanced by a black, matte nanocomposite coating that exhibits unique properties such as exceptional hardness and low friction, as well as excellent corrosion protection. It is one of the most scratch and abrasion resistant coatings used in industry, including the knife industry.
Blade - extremely sharp with a Spear Point profile, with a clearly marked blade belly, partially serrated (Partially Serrated). Coated with a black, non-reflective DLC coating. The blade has a flat grind, which ensures durability, excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Double blade locking system: a solid Liner-Lock blade locking mechanism is combined with an additional “Hidden Lock” manual lock. A false edge has been added to the spine to improve piercing performance. The knife is opened with a dual thumb stud.
Handle - anodized aluminum grips ensure light weight and structural strength, and a series of holes have been made in them to improve grip and reduce weight. The open-backed design simplifies cleaning and maintenance. A sturdy left/right-handed clip allows the knife to be carried deep in the pocket (discreetly) in a tip-up position. The handle is finished with a glass breaker.
