14C28N - martensitic stainless chromium steel is the latest development in the range of knife steels produced by the Swedish steelworks Sandvik. The optimized chemical composition with a unique combination ensures the highest quality, excellent edge performance, high hardness and corrosion resistance. By reducing the carbon content to 0.62% (C) and increasing the chromium content to 14.0% (Cr), as well as adding nitrogen to 0.11% (N), the corrosion resistance has been significantly increased. Vacuum & Cryogenic - 14C28N steel undergoes a specialized heat treatment process involving two key stages. Vacuum Heat Treatment - the steel is hardened in a vacuum environment, which minimizes oxidation and ensures more uniform metal properties. This process increases the strength and structural integrity of the steel. Cryogenic Treatment After heating, the steel is rapidly cooled to extremely low temperatures, often below -100°C (-148°F). This transformation changes the residual austenite into martensite, significantly increasing the hardness, wear resistance and overall durability. Thanks to these advanced processes, 14C28N steel ensures exceptional performance, offering both razor-sharp edge retention and extraordinary blade durability.
Blade - Arrow type, finished with a stonewashed method to mask small scratches caused during use. The thickness of the blade ensures high durability, while the low flat grind gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance.
Handle - a series of holes in the handle reduces weight and improves grip. They can also be used to make a paracord braid on the knife. The contoured shape ensures a comfortable, secure grip even with wet hands. The forefinger groove is notched to improve control of the knife. At the back, there is a finger ring that prevents the knife from slipping out of the hand during work. It can also be used as an improvised ice pick.
Sheath - made of Kydex, extendable, protects the blade and part of the handle. Thanks to the Tek-Lok clip, the knife can be attached to a belt or equipment in almost any way.
