Elmax - considered "the best all-round knife steel" a modern alloy steel with a high content of 17.30% (Cr), carbon 1.70% (C), vanadium 3.00% (V), molybdenum 1.00% (Mo), silicon 0.80% (Si). Hardened in the range of 57-62 HRC. Produced by powder metallurgy method of mixing finely powdered materials, pressing to the desired shape, and then heating to sinter or bind the material. It is characterized by extreme edge holding, high wear and corrosion resistance, and dimensional stability. Manufactured at Böhler-Uddeholm steel mills in Austria .
PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) - the resistance of the surface of the wedge and cutting edge is enhanced by a vacuum deposition method used to deposit thin films by condensing an evaporated form of the desired material onto the surface of the workpiece. The coating method involves a purely physical process such as high-temperature vacuum evaporation followed by condensation. The applied coating has a very high hardness which significantly increases the resistance of the blade to rust and abrasive wear.
Blade - machine ground T/E (Tanto Edge) type. Coated with black PVD coating . The backbone extends the length of the cutting edge in relation to the length of the slender wedge converging towards the needle-sharp tip of the knife. Thethickness of the blade provides high strength while the high, flat grind gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Mechanical locking by snapping a section of the Handle onto the oval locking pin.
Handle - CNC-milled titanium Exoskeleton, an outer skeleton with a movable top section responsible for opening and closing the knife. The chamfered edges of the sheaths eliminate sharp edges, and the perfectly matched inserts made of heat-dyed titanium improve grip security. On the right side, an artful knife opening lock slider. Once it is moved to the secure "lock" position, the knife will not be opened/closed by accident. A single-position titanium (right) deep-carry clip allows you to discreetly carry the knife in your pocket in the tip-down position (blade tip down).
