Attilio “Atti” Morotti, born in Bergamo in 1957, is a highly regarded craftsman and knife maker. His passion for craftsmanship began with his work in a mechanical workshop and led him to create his own brand of knives, Atti Knives. In addition to being an artisan, Morotti is also an avid motorcyclist who has traveled many of the roads of Italy and Europe. His interest in knives began when he visited a knife-making exhibition, where he was fascinated by the mastery and quality of the work on display. This experience inspired him to create his first fixed blade knife in 2002. Despite his lack of formal training, through determination and a love of craftsmanship, Morotti was able to create knives of recognized quality. His skills earned him the title of “Master of the Italian Knife Guild” in 2007. Atti Knives are true works of applied art. Morotti starts with simple sketches, which are then refined with the utmost attention to detail. He uses a variety of materials, such as stainless steel, damascus steel, mother-of-pearl, mammoth fossils and stabilized wood. Each piece is unique, ensuring a truly artisanal design
Elmax - considered the “best all-around knife steel” modern alloy steel with a high content of 17.30% (Cr), carbon 1.70% (C), vanadium 3.00% (V), molybdenum 1.00% (Mo), silicon 0.80% (Si). Hardened in the range of 57-62 HRC. Produced by powder metallurgy method of mixing finely powdered materials, pressing to the desired shape, and then heating to sinter or bind the material. It is characterized by extreme edge holding, high wear and corrosion resistance, and dimensional stability. Manufactured at the Böhler-Uddeholm steel mills in Austria.
Blade - Dagger type, sharpened on one side, finished with an elegant satin finish. The light belly extends the length of the cutting edge in relation to the length of the blade converging towards the needle-sharp tip of the knife. The light thickness combined with a high flat grind (Flat Grind) gives excellent cutting properties combined with high durability. The blade can be opened with a protruding front flipper (index-finger front flipper). The entire blade is locked with the proven and popular frame lock with a steel inlay to prevent wiping of the lock face.
Handle - grips on the presentation side made of Fat Carbon composite, a material of exceptional strength and aesthetics. Lock side made of titanium, grips attached to an artful backspacer. The decorative pivot contrasts beautifully with the color of the grips. The straight line of the facings allows the Handle grips to fit almost any hand, regardless of size or grip preference.
Additional accessories - a sheath for the knife made of high-quality leather.
