The DMP HCS (Hybrid Coyote Sage) Forprene, Stonewashed medium-size (Middle-Size) multi-purpose assault knife with full tang construction. The goal was to create an easy-to-carry, reliable, lightweight knife for use on the battlefield and for heavy field work, which also performs well during hunting as well as outdoor activities. Extremely rugged design with a massive 6.3mm blade measuring 152mm in length with blood-draining slots (grain grooves / drainage inlets) on both sides of the blade.
N690 - corrosion-resistant, high-carbon 1.07% (C), martensitic chromium steel 17.30% (Cr) with molybdenum 1.10% (Mo), vanadium 0.10% (V) and cobalt 1.50% (Co) for structural uniformity. It features exceptionally high corrosion resistance and long edge retention. One of the best tool steels in the world today. Achieves a hardness of 58 HRC. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Blade - Drop Point type with reinforced tip useful for heavy work. The blade has undergone a Stone Washed finish masking minor scratches. Plain blade was brought out with a high flat grind. The high grind provides excellent cutting edge geometry, and the false blade facilitates penetration. Upper jimping long textured thumb rest, as well as a single finger guard single-sided hilt / guard to protect the hand from slipping on the blade.
Handle - rubber-like properties clad in HCS (Hybrid Coyote Sage) color. Made of non-slip Forprene thermoplastic elastomer (flexible return, softness, chemical resistance), provides a secure grip even with wet hands. Screwed directly to the threaded stem with a conical steel head. Such a solution makes the construction solid, and the knife is better balanced. The head with an enlarged lanyard hole can act as a hammer / glass striker.
Sheath - lightweight, injection-molded shell made of impact-resistant reinforced Nylon. The minimalist holster protects the knife from falling out (snap with trigger lever), and the vibration-absorbing damping system prevents the blade from rattling during movement. The symmetrical design allows the holster's handling to be customized for both right- and left-handed users by moving the trigger lever to the other side of the sheath. The universal openwork shell design open at the bottom reduces the weight of the kit and prevents water from collecting inside and reduces the weight of the kit. Reduced to a minimum nylon webbing allows the sheath to be quickly attached to the belt or under the webbing of the M.O.L.L.E. (Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment) system. Sheath's lower Velcro-fastened thigh band with rubber reinforcement prevents the sheath from moving on the thigh.
