Spyderco Knife Subvert Sprint Run Carbon Fiber / Titanium, Satin Plain CPM 20CV by Nati Amor (C239CFP)
- Spyderco Subvert Sprint Run Carbon Fiber / Titanium, Satin Plain limited version (Sprint Run) of the Subvert model, the result of a collaboration between Israeli knifemaker Nati Amor and Spyderco. A large folding knife with a wide blade in CPM 20CV steel!
Spyderco Subvert Sprint Run Carbon Fiber / Titanium, Satin Plain designed by Israeli silversmith and knifemaker Nati Amor, Subvert faithfully replicates his handcrafted 'Sabotage' folding knife in a premium production knife. This unique version of the Sprint Run™ further refines that design, using a uniquely styled blade of full flat ground CPM 20CV steel. Equally unique, the beautifully contoured grips of this knife are precision machined from solid carbon fibre. Other construction features are in line with the standard version of the knife, including Ball bearings on the pivot mechanism, thick skeletonised titanium grips, a robust LinerLock mechanism and a clip configured for right-side, tip-up carry.
CPM S20CV - one of the world's finest tool steels, an American premium martensitic stainless steel. Manufactured by US Crucible Industries according to the Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process. The CPM process produces a very homogeneous, high quality steel with excellent dimensional stability, grindability and ductility compared to steels produced by conventional methods. Designed to provide improved wear resistance while maintaining corrosion resistance at the highest level. This super steel is comparable to Bohler's M390 steel or Carpenter's CTS-204P. According to some knife manufacturers, 20CV is the best of these three steels in terms of edge retention. It consists of 19.0% carbon, 20.0% chromium, 4.0% vanadium, 1.0% molybdenum and 0.6% tungsten. The high percentage of chromium with a touch of molybdenum makes 20CV one of the best high-end corrosion-resistant steels.
Blade - wide, Drop Point type, finished in an elegant Satin finish. The generous belly extends the length of the cutting edge in relation to the length of the blade, converging towards a needle-sharp tip. The solid thickness of the blade, combined with the Full Flat Grind, gives excellent cutting properties combined with high durability. Ball bearings support the smooth opening of the blade, which can be opened with the SpyderHole round cutout (Spyderco patent). This makes it easy to use for both right and left-handed people. The entire blade is locked with the proven and popular liner lock.
Handle - titanium frame covered with non-slip textured grips made of tough, heat and cold resistant Carbon Fiber. Handle provides full grip and excellent control. The metal, single-position (right) hourglass clip allows the knife to be carried in the tip-up position. Above the clip a hole (lanyard hole) for a cord.
Pouch - included zipped soft nylon case with manufacturer's logo for safe storage and transportation of the folder.
