LionSteel KUR Black G10, Black Stonewashed Sleipner by Molletta (KUR BBK)
- KUR Black G10, Black Stonewashed, a lightweight, handy and durable E.D.C. folder from Italian manufactory LionSteel, designed by Michele "Molletta" Pensato. Winner of Blade magazine's prestigious Overall Knife of The Year award at the Blade Show.

This product is intended for use only by adults with knowledge and experience in handling sharp cutting tools. Improper use of the knife can result in serious injuries. The blade is extremely sharp and can easily cut through skin and tissue; therefore, extra caution should always be exercised while cutting, and hands should be kept away from the cutting edge. To prevent the knife from slipping, it is recommended to cut on a stable, non-slip surface and avoid excessive force, which may cause uncontrolled blade movement.
Leaving the knife on the edge of a table, countertop, or in easily accessible places—especially where children are present—poses a significant safety risk. The knife should always be properly secured after use, ideally by placing it on a stable surface or storing it in designated knife blocks, protective sheaths, or magnetic strips. The knife should never be used for tasks it is not designed for, such as opening cans or prying objects, as this can damage the tool and lead to dangerous accidents.
A dull blade increases the risk of injury, as it requires more force and is more likely to slip from the material being cut. Therefore, it is essential to sharpen the knife regularly to maintain optimal sharpness. Additionally, proper cleaning and drying of the knife are necessary to prevent corrosion and bacterial growth. Periodic inspection of the handle and blade is recommended to check for cracks, chips, or looseness. If any damage is detected, the knife should be repaired or replaced immediately.
When using the knife, focus solely on the task at hand—avoid talking on the phone, watching television, or other distractions while cutting. Ensure proper lighting in the workspace for better visibility and control. Please note that some countries or regions have laws restricting the ownership and carrying of knives. Before purchasing or using this knife, verify that its use is legal in your location according to applicable regulations.
Following these safety guidelines will help ensure safe and effective knife use, minimizing the risk of accidents and extending the lifespan of the tool.
KUR Black G10, Black Stonewashed, a lightweight, handy and durable E.D.C. folder from Italian manufactory LionSteel, designed by Michele "Molletta" Pensato. Winner of Blade magazine's prestigious Overall Knife of The Year award at the Blade Show.
Design by Molletta, designed by a well-known and respected Italian designer with many years of experience. Michele Pensato (a.k.a. Molletta), is distinguished by a new approach to the use of materials and experimentation in the application of heat treatment and the use of advanced software in knife design.
Sleipner - a versatile high-alloy chrome-molybdenum-vanadium tool steel with high wear and chipping resistance with a balanced alloy composition: chromium content of 7.8% (Cr), 0.9% carbon (C), molybdenum 2.5% (Mo) and vanadium 0.5% (V). It achieves a high hardness of 60-63 HRC. Manufactured at the Swedish Uddeholm steel mill.
Blade - Drop Point with clearly marked belly finished by Stone Washed method and coated with black PVD coating, cutting edge smooth (plain). The small thickness of the blade combined with a high flat grind (Flat Grind) gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. The IKBS ball-bearing system supports the smooth and seamless operation of the knife's opening mechanism with a fast index-finger flipper (flipper) when opened acting as a deicer. The whole thing is locked with the proven and popular liner lock.
ReF - (Removable Flipper System) located on the underside of the blade projection / flipper flipper assisted by Double Crown makes it easy to open the blade with one hand. It consists of a small lever (protrusion) that extends beyond the back of the handle when the head is closed. In the open position, the protrusion acts as a stinger, protecting the hand from slipping on the blade. In the folder, it is possible to unscrew the Removable Flipper System lever (unscrew the flipper fin, then insert the second screw included in the box) and open the blade with both hands. This is important in countries where there is a ban on one-handed opening blade knives in public places.
IKBS - (ball bearing system) allows fast, smooth opening of the blade.
Handle - steel liners along with 3D-machined, black G10 (pressure-pressed fiberglass with synthetic resin) liners are attached to a 6AI4V solid titanium spacer, the so-called backspacer (liner connector). A right-side compact deep-pocket wire clip allows the knife to be carried deep in the pocket (discreetly) in tip-up (tip-up) position. Exposed titanium head with lanyard hole, a hole for a rope can, as a last resort, act as a hammer or glass breaker.
