AISI 440C (American Iron and Steel Institute) martensitic alloy stainless steel with high 1.10% carbon (C) and high 16.0% chromium (Cr) content and impressive corrosion resistance. It is characterized by a hardness in the 57-59 HRC range. The high carbon content produces chromium carbide compounds, providing excellent wear resistance and edge retention after hardening. Due to its high hardness, the steel is suitable for the manufacture of cutting tools for knife blades and scissors, as well as medical tools.
Blade - Drop Point type coated with glare eliminating black BT (Black Teflon) protective coating. The small thickness of the blade combined with a high, flat grind gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Ball bearings are responsible for the smooth and smooth operation of the blade's ejector mechanism, which can be opened via a hole in the wedge (Thumb Hole) or with a quick flipper flipper (index-finger flipper).
