Endela FRN Grey Emerson Opener Plain, (Emerson Wave) Endela's fourth generation folder. Located on the back of the blade, Ernest Emerson's patented hook allows you to quickly open the blade when removing the knife from your pocket by hooking the hook over the edge of your pocket. Thanks to Wave, any Emerson folder equipped with this solution is the fastest knife in the world when it comes to opening speed. It's also faster than an automatic knife, as it's ready to use once you grab it.
VG-10 - a grade of tool-grade stainless alloy steel created in Japan specifically for making premium blades and knives. The steel's recipe was created by Takefu Special Steel co. Ltd, whose headquarters are located in Takefu, Fukui Prefecture. Initially used in the production of kitchen knives, it quickly found use as an excellent material for utility blades. Due to import restrictions, almost all knives made of VG-10 steel are produced in Seki, Japan.
Emerson Opener (Emerson Wave) Ernest Emerson's patented hook on the back of the blade, which allows the blade to be opened quickly when removing the knife from a pocket by hooking the hook over the edge of the pocket.
Blade - with Spear Point profile provides excellent cutting edge geometry with low friction. Plain blade is derived with a saber grind (Saber Grind). Satin Finish (semi-matte) coating eliminates glare. A ramped, notched section of the back of the blade positions the thumb and gives solid support for easy handling of the folder. SpyderHole round cutout (Spyderco patent) for opening the blade with one hand. On the back of the blade, an Emerson Wave hook for quick opening of the knife. Back-Lock blade lock with protection against accidental release of the lock during strong grip of the knife, cut-out in the lock designed by David Boye.
Handle - in distinctive gray color. Non-slip bi-directional textured wraps (Bi-Directional Texturing) and notches on the back of the handle (Spine Jimping) strengthen the grip even with wet hands. Made of FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon), a fiberglass-reinforced nylon plastic. Metal hourglass clip with four-way (up/down, right/left) 4-way clip positions. Lanyard hole allows attachment of a safety line.
Skeleton - two steel plates with cut-out holes, to which the facings are attached. This provides high strength and rigidity with low weight of the knife. Reinforced fully demountable structure connected by torx screws. Phosphor bronze washers make it easier to open and close the pocket knife.
