Improved technically - improved handle ergonomics (thinner, tapered at the end) - extended blade tip - enlarged cord hole - four-position clip. Reinforced fully demountable torx bolted construction for easy cleaning, folder adjustment. Manufactured at the Spyderco factory in the USA (Golden, Colorado).
CPM S45VN - corrosion resistant, mechanical stress resistant American CPM S45VN powder steel with added carbon, chromium and vanadium with a hardness of 58-59 HRC being a developmental version of the well-known and popular S30V steel. This unique steel is designed for the production of high-grade blades and knives, manufactured at Crucible Inc. steel mills.
Compression-Lock - (similar to Liner-Lock) patented blade locking mechanism by Spyderco (made in USA). Extremely durable, it provides extreme strength and ease of use. Located on the back of the handle, it protects the knife from inadvertent locking. When releasing the lock, the fingers are not in the path of the folding blade.
Blade - laser-cut with a modified Clip Point profile, 3.7 mm thick, coated with matte non-reflective DLC (Diamond Like Coating). Plain blade was derived with a Full Flat Grind to increase cutting properties and reduce the weight of the knife. The enlarged 14mm round SpyderHole cutout (Spyderco patent) allows the knife to be opened even with a glove. The notched thumb ramp and Finger Choil (contoured undercut for the index finger between the handle and the cutting edge) increase control of the knife.
Handle - non-slip textured liners in military digital camouflage. Made of G-10 plastic (durable, resistant to high and low temperatures, chemicals) screwed to steel liners using torx screws. The folder is equipped with a metal clip with 4-way clip positions (up/down, right/left). In the rear part of the grip an enlarged hole (lanyard hole) for pulling a lanyard or safety line.
