Karambit w/ Emerson Wave Grey Anodized Aircraft Aluminium, Bead Blasted folding knife from the Italian company FOX. The folder shows how much the traditional karambit knives from Southeast Asia have evolved. Hawkbill blade made of N690Co steel with Bead Blasted coating, Tip-Up clip, three systems of quick opening of the Emerson hook, flipper, oval cut.
Karambit - a type of knife that originated in Indonesia, with roots in Malaysia and the Philippines. It is characterized by a finger ring and a sickle-shaped blade, which is characterized by great cutting efficiency. Hawkbill mimics the way an eagle's claw or a tiger's claw rips through, piercing and cutting simultaneously. Used as a working knife and for defense.
Emerson Wave - located on the back of the blade, Ernest Emerson's patented hook allows you to quickly open the blade when removing the knife from the pocket by hooking the hook to the edge of the pocket. Thanks to Wave, any Emerson folder equipped with this solution is the fastest knife in the world when it comes to opening speed. It's also faster than an automatic knife, as it's ready to use once you grab it.
N690Co - cobalt-rich 1.65% (Co) corrosion-resistant, high-carbon 1.07% (C), martensitic chromium steel 17.30% (Cr) with molybdenum 1.10% (Mo), vanadium 0.10% (V). Developed to provide better wear resistance compared to the original Böhler N690 steel, but with higher cobalt (Co) content in its composition. It features exceptionally high corrosion resistance and long edge retention. One of the best tool steels in the world today. Hardened in the range of 58-61 HRC. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Blade - with the Hawkbill profile, the rounded shape of the blade is characterized by great cutting efficiency. The profile mimics the way an eagle claw or tiger claw tears, piercing and cutting at the same time. The blade is covered with a matte sandblasted Bead Blasted coating. Smooth blade (Plain type) with an ultra-thin tip and perfect curvature for maximum cutting capacity. The oval cut in the blade has increased the hump of the thumb rest (ramp), which positions the thumb directly over the opening, allowing the knife to be opened quickly also with the glove. Blade blockade: Liner-Lock type.
Handle - claddings made of lightweight T6-6082 aircraft aluminum with texture for better grip. Open-backed design reduces weight, simplifies cleaning. Spine Jimping, notches on the back of the handle covers strengthen the grip. Fastening clip (left / right) for carrying the knife in the tip-up. The handle has a polished head with a ring (Back Ring) made of T6-6082 aviation aluminum. Makes it easy to rotate the folder around your finger, allowing you to perform traditional techniques.
