260,96 €Linden Black GRN, Black DLC, the first model from Spartan Blades produced in their European factory in the Czech Republic. It reflects the design philosophy characteristic of William W. Harsey - a legend of knife design and creator of tools with real combat utility. This model was developed as a lightweight, compact fixed blade knife, designed for permanent equipment carry - without compromising on reliability, ergonomics and material durability. Reduced form and lack of unnecessary ornamentation is a conscious choice - the design serves quick draw, precise blade handling and full control in limited space. The fixed blade works with a synthetic sheath, creating a set that is easy to carry on a belt, vest or backpack, without excess bulk or weight. The core of functionality remains the Blade of Elmax steel, coated with a durable Black DLC coating, thanks to which the knife retains high resistance to abrasion, corrosion and light reflections. Handle made of GRN - rigid, lightweight and weatherproof - provides a secure grip, even when hands are wet, dirty or covered with gloves. The Spartan Harsey Linden was created for conscious users who expect one thing from their equipment: absolute reliability in all conditions.
William W. “Bill” Harsey Jr., born in 1955 in western Oregon, comes from a family with deep-rooted forestry traditions that shaped his steadfast work ethic and love of the craft. After graduating with a bachelor's degree from the University of Oregon in 1979, he dedicated himself to the art of knife making, harmoniously combining raw functionality with refined aesthetics in his designs. He is credited with working with such renowned personalities as Colonel Rex Applegate and the companies Gerber Legendary Blades, Chris Reeve Knives and Spartan Blades. For them he designed award-winning models, including the Applegate-Fairbairn Combat Folder and The Green Beret Knife. Harsey's designs, distinguished by their precision craftsmanship and deep understanding of users' needs, have won wide acclaim from professionals and collectors alike around the world.
Spartan Blades - In 2008, in a historic barn in Aberdeen, North Carolina, two retired U.S. Army Special Forces non-commissioned officers Curtis Iovito and Mark Carey combined more than 40 years of military experience to found Spartan Blades, a company specializing in the production of the highest quality knives for both military and civilian users. Reflecting their relentless pursuit of perfection, each knife is carefully designed and made from the finest materials, such as CPM MagnaCut steel and titanium. Through collaboration with renowned designers, including William W. Harsey Jr., Spartan Blades has won numerous industry awards, including the prestigious title of “American Made Knife of the Year ” for the Spartan-Harsey Folder model in 2016. In 2019, as a result of its merger with KA-BAR Knives, Spartan Blades expanded its production capabilities, introducing three product lines: Gold, Silver and Bronze, tailored to meet the diverse needs of customers. Today, Spartan Blades remains synonymous with excellence in the world of knives, combining military precision with superior craftsmanship.
Elmax - considered the “best all-around knife steel” a modern alloy steel with a high content of 17.30% (Cr), carbon 1.70% (C), vanadium 3.00% (V), molybdenum 1.00% (Mo), silicon 0.80% (Si). Hardened in the range of 57-62 HRC. Produced by powder metallurgy method of mixing finely powdered materials, pressing to the desired shape, and then heating to sinter or bind the material. It is characterized by extreme edge holding, high wear and corrosion resistance, and dimensional stability. Manufactured at Böhler-Uddeholm steel mills in Austria.
DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) durability of the blade surface is enhanced with a matte black nanocomposite coating, which exhibits unique properties such as exceptional hardness and low friction, as well as excellent corrosion protection. It is one of the most resistant coatings to scratches and abrasion that are used in the industry, including the knife industry.
Blade - Drop Point is a profile that combines tip strength with cutting precision, making it suitable for both delicate work and tasks that require force. The grind was chosen to ensure that the blade enters the material smoothly and maintains a stable working edge with prolonged use. The Elmax steel used is distinguished by its high abrasion resistance, excellent sharpness retention and enhanced corrosion protection - parameters particularly appreciated in military and outdoor constructions. The entire blade is coated with black DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon), which reduces glare and increases resistance to mechanical damage. On the back of the Blade is a milling (jimping), which improves control and increases the stability of the tool in tasks requiring accuracy. Full tang, combined with the geometric consistency of the design, creates an operational tool that can be trusted unconditionally.
Handle - made of GRN (Glass Reinforced Nylon) is a component designed for field use - resistant to impact, water, UV radiation and varying temperatures. Its ergonomic shape promotes natural hand positioning and maintains a firm grip regardless of conditions - whether bare-handed or wearing gloves. The pronounced undercut of the index finger and the profiling of the back of the grip increase the precision of knife maneuvering, reducing fatigue during prolonged work. The non-slip texture prevents hands from slipping, even in wet or dirty environments. At the end of the Handle is a hole with a safety cord, which allows the installation of a braided sheath or lanyard. It comes with a kydex sheath, perfectly matched to the line of the blade, allowing the knife to be carried quickly and steadily in any configuration. This is a Handle designed without compromise, for those who count on function - anytime, anywhere.
