The Scarab II Gen III D/E Tactical Black Aluminum, Black is the pinnacle of excellence in automatic tactical knives, taking inspiration from the original Microtech Ultratech design. Externally, it resembles the previous generation, but it's the internal design that puts the new Scarab II in a class of its own. The revolutionary double blade unfolding mechanism not only provides smoother operation for easier opening, but the double spring design propels the blade forward with enough force to make the knife open even underwater. Precision engineered to the highest standards, the Scarab II guarantees unparalleled reliability and safe use.

M390MK - thanks to the cooperation of Microtech and Böhler engineers, an exclusive version of M390 steel made only for Microtech was created. The carbon content has been increased and subjected to closer scrutiny thus improving the properties of M390 steel to provide better edge retention, corrosion resistance and polishing. Martensitic high-performance chromium steel produced by powder metallurgy. Due to its alloy concept, it has extremely high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Due to its high wear resistance, it adequately maintains the shape of the edge, so the blade stays sharp for a very long time (requiring minimal maintenance). Another of the advantages is resistance to the formation of “wire” during sharpening. The steel has a high chromium content of 19.0% (Cr) doped with 1.95% carbon (C), vanadium 4.0% (V), and is hardened between 59-61 HRC. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter's CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.

Blade - machine ground D/E (Double Edge) Dagger type , sharpened on both sides with a long line of grain grooves on both sides of the blade for reinforcement. The durability of the blade's surface is enhanced with a non-reflective, matte Black Finished nanocomposite coating, which exhibits unique properties: exceptional hardness, low friction, excellent corrosion protection. The blade is brought out with a high flat grind (Flat Grind), providing excellent cutting properties. Thus, while maintaining high strength, the knife has excellent piercing properties. The powerful mechanism of extending / retracting the blade with the help of the moletted Thumb Slide, a stepped slide under the thumb requires for safety the application of a specific force to overcome the resistance of the spring. In this model, the moleting has been upgraded to a version with a distinctive “X” in the center. The way of opening provides trouble-free opening for both right and left-handed people.

Handle - made with excellent precision in 3D technology on CNC milling machines, from 6061-T6 aluminum coated with Mil-Spec. In the Tactical version, all hardware (screws, clip, slide) is deep black. Perfectly fitted inlays (inlay) made of special 3M Traction Tape material with sandpaper texture make the knife non-slip in the hand during use. There are notches (jimping) on the back and bottom of the Handle for a more secure grip. The slim profile and milled two-position (right/left) solid deep-carry clip allow the knife to be carried discreetly in the pocket, in tip-down (blade tip down) position. The clip features the line's signature scarab pictogram. The Handle is finished with a glass breaker, a solid steel triangle into which a tungsten carbide ball has been pressed. It also features a hole for interweaving a decorative line.
