LionSteel Tactical Knife Natural Canvas Micarta, Black Stonewashed Niolox by Molletta (T5B CVN)
- T5 Tactical Natural Canvas Micarta, Black Stonewashed - compact knife with LionSteel fixed blade based on the legendary M7. Niolox blade, monolithic Canvas Micarta handle and Solid® construction - for bushcraft, survival and hunting.

This product is intended for use only by adults with knowledge and experience in handling sharp cutting tools. Improper use of the knife can result in serious injuries. The blade is extremely sharp and can easily cut through skin and tissue; therefore, extra caution should always be exercised while cutting, and hands should be kept away from the cutting edge. To prevent the knife from slipping, it is recommended to cut on a stable, non-slip surface and avoid excessive force, which may cause uncontrolled blade movement.
Leaving the knife on the edge of a table, countertop, or in easily accessible places—especially where children are present—poses a significant safety risk. The knife should always be properly secured after use, ideally by placing it on a stable surface or storing it in designated knife blocks, protective sheaths, or magnetic strips. The knife should never be used for tasks it is not designed for, such as opening cans or prying objects, as this can damage the tool and lead to dangerous accidents.
A dull blade increases the risk of injury, as it requires more force and is more likely to slip from the material being cut. Therefore, it is essential to sharpen the knife regularly to maintain optimal sharpness. Additionally, proper cleaning and drying of the knife are necessary to prevent corrosion and bacterial growth. Periodic inspection of the handle and blade is recommended to check for cracks, chips, or looseness. If any damage is detected, the knife should be repaired or replaced immediately.
When using the knife, focus solely on the task at hand—avoid talking on the phone, watching television, or other distractions while cutting. Ensure proper lighting in the workspace for better visibility and control. Please note that some countries or regions have laws restricting the ownership and carrying of knives. Before purchasing or using this knife, verify that its use is legal in your location according to applicable regulations.
Following these safety guidelines will help ensure safe and effective knife use, minimizing the risk of accidents and extending the lifespan of the tool.
The T5 Tactical Natural Canvas Micarta, Black Stonewashed is a versatile premium fixed blade knife, designed as a compact alternative to the M7 model - with full field and tactical functionality. The design by Michele “Molletta” Pensato was created for users who need a rugged and handy tool ready for all conditions - from camping to survival activities. The T5 version is distinguished by its smaller size while maintaining its full robustness, making it a more portable tool, but equally reliable. Blade of the knife is made of powdered Niolox steel , known for its exceptional durability, abrasion resistance and high edge stability. This is the material often chosen for off-road knives, ensuring effective cutting and reliable performance even with prolonged use. Full tang construction and Solid® technology allowed the Blade to be integrated with a Handle made from a single block of Canvas Micarta, resulting in maximum rigidity and mechanical resistance. A non-slip texture, a distinctively contoured grip, a solid crossguard and a safety cable hole increase comfort and safety for off-road use. The model is equipped with a classic leather sheath with a vertical fastening system, allowing comfortable carrying at the belt or on a mount. The LionSteel T5 is a tool for users who expect precision, durability and functionality - without compromise.
Michele “Molletta” Pensato, an Italian knife designer with a passion for archaeology, has turned his love of adventure into the high-end craft of knife design. His career began with an archaeological dig, where he realized the need for a durable knife. Known for his innovative approach to materials and experiments with heat treatment, Pensato has won numerous awards. His designs for lionSTEEL, such as the popular T5 and the award-winning SR11, are distinguished by their practicality and typically Italian rounded shapes. Knife design, although just a hobby for him, has resulted in significant contributions to the lionSTEEL collection.
Niolox - a tool steel with good edge holding and high strength. Hardened in the 58-60 HRC range. It is characterized by aggressive cutting and good impact strength. The name comes from the element niobium (Nb), one of the best carbides, which contributes to the steel's wear resistance. Niolox contains 0.7% of it . Easy to sharpen with moderate corrosion resistance, it contains 12.7% chromium (Cr). Manufactured by the German Lohmann steelworks .
Blade - uses a drop point profile with a long cutting edge and a solid tip for high utility versatility - from cutting and planing to more demanding camp tasks. The material of the blade is Niolox powder steel , which is characterized by exceptional abrasion resistance, a high level of hardness and very good stability of the working edge. It is a steel dedicated to heavy-duty field tools and tactical knives. The flat grind (flat grind) provides good penetration properties and smoothness of cutting while maintaining optimum stiffness of the blade. Blade's surface was finished using the Stonewashed method and then coated with a black coating, which effectively masks micro-scratches and emphasizes the utility character of the blade. On the back of the blade there is a jimping, improving control during precise movements. The entire geometry of the knife has been adapted for use in harsh terrain - both in precision tasks and in cuts requiring force.
Handle - made with Solid® technology from a single block of Canvas Micarta, which gives the entire structure exceptional rigidity and mechanical resistance. Micarta is a material resistant to moisture, changing temperatures and abrasion, and its slightly rough texture increases grip even in harsh weather conditions. Precise processing has resulted in a non-slip surface that improves control of the knife in mud, rain or when working with gloves. The grip has been ergonomically contoured - with an extended crossguard, which effectively protects the hand from slipping on the blade. In the back there is a lanyard hole, and the end of the Handle can act as an emergency hammer. The whole thing fits perfectly in the hand, is well balanced and suitable for prolonged use without fatigue. The T5 handle combines classic aesthetics, modern materials and uncompromising functionality - everything you would expect from a premium outdoor knife.
Sheath - extended, protecting the Blade along with part of the Handle. Hand-stitched, made of natural leather in black with embossed manufacturer's logo. The edges of the holster were stitched with double decorative stitching. Fastened with a Prym type snap fastener . Attaching to a belt or to a mount allows carrying the knife in an upright position .
