Delica 4 Cobalt Blue FRN, Satin, the fourth edition of one of Spyderco's most famous EDC folding knives, the Delica model. Modern CPM SPY27 steel . Superb E.D.C. with injection-molded grips in an elite burgundy color.
The lightweight fourth-generation Delica folder with a flat full grind. This grind has reduced weight and improved cutting properties. Reinforced fully strippable construction joined by torx screws , facilitates cleaning and adjustments of the folder. Four-plane clip attachment. With improved ergonomics and design, the knife has gained in rigidity, functionality and aesthetics. Available with grips in black, blue, brown, gray, orange, purple, green.
In 1990, Spyderco launched two models of knives: the Endura and Delica, creating demand for lightweight one-handed opening folders at an affordable price. These products have become bestsellers. Thanks to their small size and low weight, they are an excellent choice as everyday EDC knives .
CPM SPY27 - a proprietary blend of alloys, including vanadium, molybdenum, niobium, nitrogen and cobalt. The high-alloy stainless steel contains 1.4% carbon and a 1% admixture of niobium (Nb), one of the best carbides, which contributes to the steel's wear resistance. Thanks to its properties, the steel holds sharpness for a very long time and guarantees aggressive cuts for a long time. It is easy to sharpen, corrosion resistant and contains a high admixture of 14% chromium. It provides good strength and cutting edge retention, as well as a fine-grained structure. Produced by US Crucible Industries using the particle metallurgy / Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) method. The CPM process creates a very homogeneous, high-quality steel with excellent dimensional stability, grindability and toughness compared to steels produced by conventional methods.
Blade - with Clip Point profile , 2.5 mm thick , coated with black non-reflective titanium carbide (TiCN) coating. Plain blade was derived with Full Flat Grind for excellent geometry and strength. On the back of the Blade , a notched ramp (jimping / crosshatching) positions the thumb, gives solid support and makes it easier to operate the folder. The 13mm round SpyderHole cutout (Spyderco patent) allows you to open the knife with one hand using your thumb. Blade lock of Back-Lock type with additional Boye Detent cutout , preventing accidental release of the lock when gripping the knife firmly.
Handle - in elite color Cobalt Blue. Non-slipbi-directional textured covers (Bi-Directional Texturing) and notched notches on the back of the Handle (Spine Jimping) strengthen the grip even with wet hands. Made of FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon), a fiberglass-reinforced nylon plastic. Metal hourglass clip with 4-way (up/down, right/left) 4-way clip positions. In the rear part of the Handle a hole (lanyard hole ) for a cord.
Skeleton - steel plates with cut-out holes, to which the grips are attached. This provides high strength and stiffness with low weight of the knife. Reinforced fully demountable construction connected by torx screws. Phosphor bronze washers for easy opening and closing.
