M390 Microclean® - Martensitic high-performance chromium steel produced by powder metallurgy. Due to the alloy concept, it is characterized by extremely high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Thanks to its high wear resistance, it retains the shape of the edge properly, so that the blade remains sharp for a very long time (requires minimal maintenance). Another advantage is the resistance to “wire” formation during sharpening. Steel with a high chromium content of 20.0% (Cr) with an admixture of 1.9% carbon (C), 4.0% vanadium (V), hardened to 59-61 HRC. This super steel is comparable to CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steel by Carpenter. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Blade - machine-ground T/E (Tanto Edge), sharpened on one side, with a long line of grooves on both sides of the blade. Finished with an elegant satin finish. The blade has a high flat grind, which ensures excellent cutting properties. This gives the knife excellent piercing properties while maintaining high durability. The strong blade extension / retraction mechanism with a knurled thumb slide requires a certain amount of force to overcome the spring resistance for safety reasons. The opening method ensures trouble-free opening for both right- and left-handed people.
Handle– the display side is made of high-quality Carbon Fiber composite with CNC milling in 3D technology. The other side is made of aluminum 6061-T6. The texture of the handle ensures that the knife does not slip in the hand during use. There are jimping grooves on the top and bottom of the handle for a more secure grip. The slim profile and milled two-position (right/left) solid deep carry clip allow the knife to be carried discreetly in the pocket in a tip-down position. The clip features the Microtech logo, serial number and date of manufacture. The handle ends in a window-pane hammer, a solid steel triangle with a pressed-in tungsten carbide ball. There is also a hole for attaching a decorative cord.
