UTX-85 - 85% the size of Ultratech®, the UTX-85® has been designed to fit perfectly in the hand, making it an excellent choice for everyday carry. The release mechanism is easier to operate than on the full-size Ultratech® and is ideal for smaller or sensitive hands. The UTX-85® still has a fully functional window chisel and all the functions of the full-size Ultratech® model.
M390 - martensitic high-performance chromium steel produced by powder metallurgy. Due to the alloy concept, it is characterized by extremely high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Thanks to its high wear resistance, it retains its edge shape, keeping the blade sharp for a very long time (requires minimal maintenance). Another advantage is its resistance to “wire” formation during sharpening. Steel with a high chromium content of 20.0% (Cr) with an admixture of 1.9% carbon (C), 4.0% vanadium (V), hardened to 59-61 HRC. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter's CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Blade - machine-ground S/E type (Single Edge Drop Point), sharpened on one side. Finished with an elegant satin finish. The blade is ground with a high flat grind, which ensures excellent cutting properties. This gives the knife excellent piercing properties while maintaining high durability. The strong blade extension / retraction mechanism with a knurled thumb slide, a stepped slider for the thumb, requires a certain amount of force to overcome the resistance of the spring for safety. The opening mechanism allows for a smooth opening for both right and left-handed people.
Handle - made with high precision in 3D technology on CNC milling machines, from 6061-T6 aluminum. The surface texture of the handle prevents the knife from slipping in the hand during use. There are jimping grooves on the top and bottom of the handle for a secure grip. The slim profile and milled two-position (right/left) solid deep carry clip allow the knife to be carried discreetly in the pocket in a tip-down position. The clip features the Microtech logo, serial number and date of manufacture. The handle ends in a window breaker, a solid steel triangle with a pressed-in tungsten carbide ball. It also has a hole for attaching a decorative cord.
