14C28N - martensitic stainless chromium steel is the latest development in the range of knife steels produced by the Swedish steelworks Sandvik. The optimized chemical composition with a unique combination ensures the highest quality, excellent edge performance, high hardness and corrosion resistance. By reducing the carbon content to 0.62% (C) and increasing the chromium content to 14.0% (Cr), as well as adding nitrogen to 0.11% (N), the corrosion resistance has been significantly increased. Vacuum & Cryogenic - 14C28N steel undergoes a specialized heat treatment process involving two key stages. Vacuum Heat Treatment - the steel is hardened in a vacuum environment, which minimizes oxidation and ensures more uniform metal properties. This process increases the strength and structural integrity of the steel. Cryogenic Treatment After heating, the steel is rapidly cooled to extremely low temperatures, often below -100°C (-148°F). This transformation changes the residual austenite into martensite, significantly increasing the hardness, wear resistance and overall durability. Thanks to these advanced processes, 14C28N steel ensures exceptional performance, offering both razor-sharp edge retention and extraordinary blade durability.
Blade - Tanto Point type finished with a Stonewashed coating to hide minor scratches caused by use. The long cutting edge with a clearly marked geometric transition converges towards the sharp tip of the blade. The thickness of the blade ensures high durability, while flat grinding provides excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Upper jimping on the back of the blade, a corrugated thumb rest.
Handle - G10 composite grips, a mechanically extremely durable material that is practically completely resistant to weather conditions and chemicals, textured for improved grip. The contoured shape ensures a comfortable, secure grip even with wet hands. Fore finger groove at the front improves grip and at the same time creates a guard that prevents the hand from slipping onto the blade. A protruding part of the tang at the back, which can be used as a window breaker or a self-defense tool. A hole for a decorative or security cord.
Sheath - made of Kydrex, extendable, protects the blade and part of the handle. Thanks to the Tek-Lok clip, the knife can be attached to a belt or equipment in almost any way.
