Microtech Combat Troodon D/E Gen III OTF Knife Black Aluminum, Turquoise M390MK by Tony Marfione (1142-1TQSK)
- Combat Troodon D/E Gen III Black Aluminum, Turquoise is largest OTF in the Troodon series. It is designed for a wide range of utility applications and close-quarters combat. Operating in D/A mode, it features a lightning-fast blade deployment mechanism.

This product is intended for use only by adults with knowledge and experience in handling sharp cutting tools. Improper use of the knife can result in serious injuries. The blade is extremely sharp and can easily cut through skin and tissue; therefore, extra caution should always be exercised while cutting, and hands should be kept away from the cutting edge. To prevent the knife from slipping, it is recommended to cut on a stable, non-slip surface and avoid excessive force, which may cause uncontrolled blade movement.
Leaving the knife on the edge of a table, countertop, or in easily accessible places—especially where children are present—poses a significant safety risk. The knife should always be properly secured after use, ideally by placing it on a stable surface or storing it in designated knife blocks, protective sheaths, or magnetic strips. The knife should never be used for tasks it is not designed for, such as opening cans or prying objects, as this can damage the tool and lead to dangerous accidents.
A dull blade increases the risk of injury, as it requires more force and is more likely to slip from the material being cut. Therefore, it is essential to sharpen the knife regularly to maintain optimal sharpness. Additionally, proper cleaning and drying of the knife are necessary to prevent corrosion and bacterial growth. Periodic inspection of the handle and blade is recommended to check for cracks, chips, or looseness. If any damage is detected, the knife should be repaired or replaced immediately.
When using the knife, focus solely on the task at hand—avoid talking on the phone, watching television, or other distractions while cutting. Ensure proper lighting in the workspace for better visibility and control. Please note that some countries or regions have laws restricting the ownership and carrying of knives. Before purchasing or using this knife, verify that its use is legal in your location according to applicable regulations.
Following these safety guidelines will help ensure safe and effective knife use, minimizing the risk of accidents and extending the lifespan of the tool.
Combat Troodon S/E Gen III Black Aluminum, Turquoise the largest of the automatic knives, is the pinnacle of precision engineering and tactical efficiency in the field of OTF (Out The Front) knives. Built for a wide range of utility applications, it boasts a 25% larger size compared to the flagship Troodon Precision-crafted, equipped with a sophisticated and extremely fast ejector mechanism and a razor-sharp blade. 100% made and assembled in the USA. Designed by Anthony Marfione, knifemaker and owner of Microtech Knives
Combat Troodon OTF Line - Troodon is Greek for “tooth scratcher”. Although this name was first given to a dinosaur similar to a raptor, it is equally suitable for Microtech's large OTF knife, designed for all purposes and for close combat. This automatic knife with above-average durability and D/A (Double Action) mode is a favorite OTF among law enforcement officers, the US armed forces, and emergency services personnel Its robust design makes the Combat Troodon® suitable for intensive use, and the advantages of the Out The Front automatic knife also make it an excellent knife for everyday use.
M390MK - thanks to the cooperation of Microtech and Böhler engineers, an exclusive version of M390 steel has been created, made only for Microtech The carbon content has been increased and subjected to more precise control, improving the properties of M390 steel to ensure better edge retention, corrosion resistance and polishing. Martensitic high-performance chromium steel produced by powder metallurgy Due to the alloy concept, it is characterized by an extremely high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Thanks to the high wear resistance, it retains the shape of the edge properly, so that the blade remains sharp for a very long time (requires minimal maintenance). Another advantage is the resistance to “wire” formation during sharpening. High-chromium steel 19.0% (Cr) with 1.95% carbon (C) and 4.0% vanadium (V), hardened to 59-61 HRC This super steel is comparable to CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steel by Carpenter. Produced by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria
Blade - machine-ground D/E (Double Edge) Dagger, sharpened on both sides with a long line of chip grooves on both sides of the blade for reinforcement. Characterized by an eye-catching Two Tone finish, with the grind and grain covered in turquoise, and the rest of the blade satin-finished. The blade is produced with a high flat grind, which ensures excellent cutting properties. This means that the knife has excellent piercing properties while maintaining high durability. The wide grain additionally strengthens the blade. The strong blade extension / retraction mechanism with a knurled thumb slide requires a certain amount of force to overcome the spring resistance for safety. The opening method ensures trouble-free opening for both right- and left-handed people
Handle - made with high precision in 3D technology on CNC milling machines, from Mil-Spec coated aluminum 6061-T6. The texture of the handle surface and the deep cuts (jimping) on it make the knife non-slip in the hand during use The slim profile and milled two-position (right/left) solid deep carry clip allow the knife to be carried discreetly in the pocket in a tip-down position. It is equipped with a smooth rollerball, thanks to which the knife easily slides into the pocket without damaging the edges of the pocket. The clip features the Microtech logo and date of manufacture. The handle ends with a window breaker, a steel triangle with a pressed-in tungsten carbide ball.
