14C28N - Martensitic chromium stainless steel is the latest development in the range of knife steels produced by Swedish Sandvik steel mills. An optimized chemical composition with a unique combination provides superior quality, excellent edge performance, high hardness and corrosion resistance. Vacuum & Cryogenic - 14C28N steel has undergone a specialized heat treatment process involving two key steps. Vacuum Heat Treatment - the steel is quenched in a vacuum environment, which minimizes oxidation and ensures more uniform metal properties. This process increases the strength and structural integrity of the steel. Cryogenic Treatment Once heated, the steel is rapidly cooled to extremely low temperatures, often below -148°F (-100°C). This transformation converts residual austenite to martensite, significantly increasing hardness, wear resistance and overall durability. Thanks to these advanced processes, 14C28N steel delivers exceptional performance, offering both razor-sharp edge retention and outstanding blade durability.

The long cutting edge in relation to the Blade's length converges towards the needle-sharp tip of the knife. The thickness of the blade provides high strength while the high, flat grind gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Ceramic ball bearings are responsible for the smooth and smooth operation of the knife's opening mechanism. The flipper fin forms a mini-guard when opened, preventing your hand from slipping on the blade. The knife can also be opened with the help of a hole milled in the wedge.
