14C28N - a martensitic chromium stainless steel - is the latest development in a range of knife steels produced by Sandvik's Swedish mills. An optimized chemical composition with a unique combination provides superior quality, excellent edge performance, high hardness and corrosion resistance. By reducing the amount of carbon 0.62% (C) and increasing the chromium content 14.0% (Cr), as well as adding nitrogen 0.11% (N), corrosion resistance has been significantly improved. Considered an improved version of 13C26 steel. Unbeatable in the price/quality category!
Double Detent Slip-Joint - “no lock” non-locking mechanism used in folders in which the wedge is held in the open position by spring pressure on the flat section at the back of the blade shank during use. TheSlip Joint holds the blade in both the folded and unfolded positions. When folded, it generates a smooth resistance as in a knife equipped with a traditional locking mechanism. To avoid accidental opening during handling, the blade is held in the closed position by two Double Detent steel balls, one on each side of the blade.
Blade – Hawkbill type with an aggressive profile, finished in an elegant satin finish that provides a refined, lightly polished appearance with subtle linear grind marks. The slim blade thickness combined with a high flat grind delivers excellent edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Ceramic ball bearings ensure smooth operation of the opening mechanism, allowing the blade to be deployed using a fast index-finger front flipper. Once opened, the flipper forms an additional lever that helps lock the blade securely. Upper jimping on the blade spine and flipper provides a textured thumb ramp for added control. When opened, the blade protrudes like a predatory claw!
Handle – made from Twill Carbon Fiber, a type of carbon fiber with a diagonal (twill) weave that combines high strength with an eye-catching appearance. The ring-shaped design allows a finger to be inserted, so there is no need to put the knife down during use. Chamfered edges of the scales eliminate sharp corners, ensuring comfort and a secure grip. The backspacer, to which the scales are mounted, guarantees rigidity and durability of the entire construction. A reversible (left/right) wire pocket clip allows tip-up carry, with the blade tip facing upward.
Sheath – the set includes a soft nylon pouch with a zipper and the manufacturer’s logo, designed for safe storage and transport of the folding knife.
