Snecx Tan - considered the most mechanically innovative knife designer in the world Malaysian knifemaker and designer famous for his unique custom knives from Snecx Design Lab. Snecx Design Lab was established in 2015 to create the conceptual boltless knife IFS-20, making Snecx Tan a legend in the knife world.
Nitro-V stainless martensitic chrome-based knife steel introduced by New Jersey Steel Baron (NJSB). The manufacturer used the existing superior AEB-L knife steel and upgraded it with nitrogen and vanadium to improve edge performance and achieve high hardness and extreme corrosion resistance, especially crucial in the marine industry and humid environments. Nitro V can be used in diving knives because of its resistance to staining and corrosion. The recommended working hardness is between 58-62HRC, and it has very good impact strength compared to other steels. It is harder than stainless powder steels such as M390, Elmax and S35VN. Therefore, Nitro-V will be a good fit for knives that require good strength.
SuperLock- an innovative blade locking system, a design by respected knifemaker and designer, Snecx Tan. The two-way lock secures the blade in the open position. The knife is locked by sliding the backspacer backwards, which eliminates accidental unlocking of the blade. Extremely easy disassembly allows access to the knife mechanism for cleaning or maintenance.
Blade - Reverse Tanto type finished with an elegant satin finish giving a semi-matte effect. It opens with a double-sided stud in the wedge in the blade (Dual Thumb Stud), so it can be easily used by right and left-handed people. Ceramic ball bearings are responsible for the smooth operation of the opening mechanism. The small thickness of the wedge, combined with a high, flat grind (Flat Grind), gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. The entire blade is locked with Snecx's proprietary Superlock lock.
ULTEM™ - a plastic belonging to the Polyethermoids family or simply PEI. This material is characterized primarily by high mechanical and impact strength with a very high strength-to-weight ratio. It is also characterized by high thermal resistance (180⁰C) and high chemical resistance to all kinds of solvents (synthetic and natural), lubricants or other chemicals. Adding to this total insensitivity to weather conditions, we get an ideal material for knife handles.
Handle - beveled grips made of polished, transparent Ultem™ plastic, attached to stainless steel liners. The simplicity and sturdiness of the design give assurance of many years of use. The grip has been relieved by a series of holes in the center of the liners. A two-position (right/left) clip allows the knife to be carried in tip-up position. There is a hole in the back for threading a safety or decorative cord. As in other models, the pivot is decorated with a stylized manufacturer's logo.
Case - a zippered soft nylon case with the manufacturer's logo is included for safe storage and transportation of the folder.
