Key features of the largest Manticore X include the silky-smooth operation of the powerful mechanism when unfolding and folding with one hand, which begins with a gradual thumb-slide of the stepped slide, allowing the powerful blade to be fired with confidence.
CPM MagnaCut - Powdered stainless steel manufactured using the Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process hardened between 60.5-62.5 HRC. The high content of vanadium 4.0% (V), molybdenum 2.0% (Mo) and niobium 2.0% (Nb) guarantees accuracy and purity unmatched by more 'conventional' steels. Designed and developed specifically for blade production by Larrin Thomas, it meets all the requirements of knife enthusiasts. With CPM MagnaCut has succeeded in creating a steel that combines the unique properties of knife steels like no other. The result is a blade material that offers an extraordinary balance of wear resistance, strength and corrosion resistance. There is currently no other steel on the world market that offers a comparable combination of excellent properties. This unique steel is produced at Crucible® Industries' US steel mills.
DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) durability of the blade surface is enhanced with a matte black nanocomposite coating, which exhibits the unique properties of natural diamonds, such as exceptional hardness and low friction, also corrosion resistance. It is one of the most resistant coatings to scratches and abrasion that are used in industry, including the knife industry.
Blade - T/E (Tanto Edge) type. Covered with a black DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating. Plain blade, derived with a high flat grind (Flat Grind), providing excellent cutting properties. This gives the knife excellent piercing qualities whilst maintaining its strength. The sturdy blade extension/retraction mechanism via the moled Thumb Slide, a stepped slide under the thumb, requires for safety the application of a specific force to overcome the resistance of the spring. The opening method ensures trouble-free opening for both right- and left-handed people.
Handle - made on the presentation side with perfect precision in 3D technology on CNC milling machines, from green anodised 6061-T6 aluminium. Camo Carbon on the clip side. The surface texture of the Handle makes the knife non-slip in the hand during use. Mythosaur skull symbol deeply engraved and dyed red, same colour on the clip and hardware of the knife. All finished in the Battleworn method. There are notches (jimping) on the back and bottom of the Handle for a more secure grip. The slim profile and the milled two-position (right/left) solid deep-carry clip allow the knife to be carried discreetly in the pocket, in tip-down position. The Handle is finished with a lanyard hole, a rope hole and a glass breaker.
