CPM MagnaCut - Powdered stainless steel manufactured using the Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process hardened to 60.5-62.5 HRC. The high content of vanadium 4.0% (V), molybdenum 2.0% (Mo) and niobium 2.0% (Nb) guarantees accuracy and purity unmatched by more 'conventional' steels. Designed and developed specifically for blade production by Larrin Thomas, it meets all the requirements of knife enthusiasts. With CPM MagnaCut has succeeded in creating a steel that combines unique properties like no other knife steel. The result is a blade material that offers an extraordinary balance of wear resistance, strength and corrosion resistance. Cerakote™ - a ceramic-based finish that can be applied to metals to improve a range of physical properties, including abrasion/wear and corrosion resistance. Thin-film non-reflective, low-friction matt protective coating resistant to heat, chemicals and impact. Provides durability and hardness.
Blade - SE (Single Edge) type with single cutting edge and two-tone finish (Two Tone). Bevels coated with black Cerakote, the rest brushed. Plain blade, derived with a high flat grind (Flat Grind) for excellent cutting properties. Short grain grooves increase the strength of the blade. As a result, the knife has excellent piercing properties while retaining its strength. The mechanism for extending/retracting the blade by means of the moled Thumb Slide, a stepped slide under the thumb, requires for safety the application of a specific force to overcome the resistance of the spring. The opening method ensures trouble-free opening for both right- and left-handed people.
Handle - made on CNC milling machines with perfect precision from green-blue anodised 6061-T6 aluminium and perfectly matching inserts. The material of the inserts resembles sandpaper in texture so that the knife does not slip in the hand during use. There are notches (jimping) on the Handle for a more secure grip. The slim design allows the knife to be tucked into any pocket. The two-position, reversible (right/left) deep carry clip allows the knife to be carried discreetly in the pocket in the tip-down position (blade tip down). The clip attachment includes a glass striker.
