Geoff Blauvelt - hailing from a fine arts background, is an American knifemaker. He began his adventure with knives as a knife reviewer and then a knife modder on YouTube where he founded Tuffknives. Thanks to his friendship with John Gray, he learned to construct knives and opened a company selling folders of his own design. With a crowd watching his YouTube channel and experience modifying hundreds of production knives, he seamlessly transitioned to making his own custom folders.
D2 - a high-carbon, high-chromium high-speed tool steel heat-treated to 59-60 HRC. With a high chromium content of 13.0% (Cr), it offers greater corrosion resistance than most high-carbon steels. Combines strength, excellent edge holding and easy sharpening. Features high wear resistance due to high carbide content in the microstructure.
Blade - Modified Tanto in stainless steel finished with Black Stonewashed masking fine scratches. Plain blade, high flat grind (Flat Grind) gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Extremely high and long belly increases cutting efficiency, false blade increases piercing properties. The large choil makes the knife easy to maneuver for precision work.
Handle - G10 plastic facings (fiberglass compressed with synthetic resin) in black, with a slightly rough surface. The profiled shape provides a comfortable, secure grip even with wet hands. The fore finger groove made on the front improves grip security, while creating a guard to prevent the hand from slipping on the blade. In the back a protruding piece of tango, which can be used as a glass breaker or self-defense tool. A hole for a decorative or safety line.
Sheath - made of kydex, extended, protecting the blade along with part of the handle. Thanks to the T-clip (Tek-Lok) mounted to it, we can almost freely attach the knife to a belt or to the equipment.
