Ostap Hel - a talented Polish knifemaker and designer. His designs are based on the fundamentals of geometry, smooth transitions and the concept of "golden proportion". He is not afraid to experiment with new shapes and ideas to fit the unique style and production capabilities of the company he designs for.
M390 - a martensitic high-performance chromium steel produced by powder metallurgy. Due to its alloy concept, it has extremely high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Due to its high wear resistance, it adequately maintains the shape of the edge, so that the blade remains sharp for a very long time (requires minimal maintenance). The steel has a high chromium content of 20.0% (Cr) doped with 1.9% carbon (C), vanadium 4.0% (V), hardened between 59-61 HRC. Another of its advantages is its resistance to "wire" formation during sharpening. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter's CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Double Detent Lock - a "no lock" non-locking mechanism used in folders in which the wedge is held open by spring pressure on a flat section at the back of the blade shank during use. The Slip Joint holds the blade in both the folded and unfolded positions. When folded, it generates a smooth resistance as in a knife equipped with a traditional locking mechanism. To avoid accidental opening during handling, the blade is held in the closed position by two Double Detent steel balls, one on each side of the blade.
Blade - kiridashi type finished in an elegant Fine Stone Wash method. The straight cutting edge converges towards the needle-sharp tip of the knife. The small thickness of the blade combined with a high flat grind (Flat Grind) gives excellent cutting properties combined with high durability. Ceramic ball bearings support the smooth opening of the blade, which can be opened with a front flipper. As a result, it can be easily used by right- and left-handed people. To maintain full control of the blade, the back of the blade is covered with an upper jimping, notched thumb rest. The entire blade is locked by a simple Slip Joint lock, which is permitted in many countries.
Handle - made of titanium 6AL4V, screwed to the backspacer, also made of titanium. Contouring of the cover eliminates sharp edges for a comfortable and secure grip. The simple, secure design gives assurance of years of use. A flat, low-profile, single-position (right) titanium clip allows the knife to be carried discreetly in the tip-up (tip up) position.
