CTS BD1N - American martensitic stainless steel with high carbon, chromium and nitrogen content. Designed and manufactured in the USA by Carpenter Technology Corporation as an improvement of CTS-BD1 steel, but with a higher working hardness of up to 63 HRC. Noticeable differences are the lack of vanadium and the 0.10%-0.15% nitrogen content, which produces almost 4 times as many atoms as vanadium. CTS-BD1N has more chromium, manganese and silicon in its composition for better performance. It performs well as a knife steel with high corrosion resistance. It provides better strength and noteworthy edge-holding ability, as well as a fine-grained structure.
Blade - Leaf-Shaped (leaf-shaped) finished in an elegant Satin finish. It opens with the SpyderHole, which is enlarged to 14 mm, a round hole in the wedge, so it can be used by right- and left-handed people without any problems. The small thickness of the blade, combined with the Full Flat grind, ensures exceptional cutting performance, transferring power to the blade's tip and providing better point strength. On the back you'll find a perfectly executed "jimping", a notch on which you can place your finger thus improving your grip and control of the knife during use. The whole thing is locked with a solid Liner Lock.
The handle - is a thick piece of gray G10, a plastic formed from fiberglass compressed under pressure with synthetic resin. The open-backed design, fixed with steel spacer sleeves, reduces weight and facilitates cleaning. The simplicity and robustness of the design provide assurance of many years of use. The four-position (right/left, up/down) stainless steel clip, decorated with the company's symbol, allows the knife to be carried in tip-up and tip-down positions. In the back of the Lanyard Hole, a hole for attaching a safety or decorative cord.
