Steel
CPM S35VN - American martensitic stainless steel with a hardness of 59-61 HRC, one of the best steels for blades. Manufactured by US Crucible Industries according to the Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process. Designed to provide improved strength over CPM S30V, while maintaining corrosion resistance at the highest level. The chemical composition has been balanced so that it consists of 0.5% niobium carbides along with 3.0% vanadium and 14.0% chromium carbides. Replacing some of the niobium carbides with vanadium carbides makes it about 15-20% harder than S30V without losing wear resistance. It is also easier to machine and polish. The improved CPM strength of S35VN provides better resistance to edge chipping. The CPM process produces a very uniform, high quality steel with excellent dimensional stability, grindability and toughness compared to steels produced by conventional methods.
Blade
Drop point type with elegant Satin finish. The generous tang extends the length of the cutting edge in relation to the length of the blade, converging towards a needle-sharp tip. Low thickness combined with high Hollow Grind gives excellent cutting performance combined with high durability. Ceramic ball bearings support the smooth operation of the blade opening mechanism, which can be opened with a quick index-finger flipper. When opened, the flipper forms a mini-guard to prevent your hand from slipping on the blade. To improve blade control, the back of the blade is covered with an upper jimping, notched thumb rest. The whole is locked with a proven frame lock.
Handle
Chamfered pieces of solid 6AL4V titanium in black on the display side with a blue graphic motif. Gold accents in the form of screws and hole trim. The two covers are joined together with a titanium backspacer, giving assurance of many years of use. As in other WE models, the pivot is decorated with a stylized manufacturer's logo. Left/right titanium clip enables carrying the knife in tip-up position, with the tip of the blade upwards. At the back of the handle a lanyard hole.
Carrying pouch
The knife is packaged in a zippered nylon soft pouch with the manufacturer's logo for safe carrying and storage of the folder.
