LionSteel Myto Knife Black Aluminum, PVD/Stonewashed M390 by Molletta (MT01A BB)
- Myto Black Aluminum, Old Black, high-tech Hi-Tech folder with durable frame-lock. Exceptional EDC knife, M390 steel blade, ReF fin on the underside of the blade, Double Crown ball bearing system, titanium clip.

This product is intended for use only by adults with knowledge and experience in handling sharp cutting tools. Improper use of the knife can result in serious injuries. The blade is extremely sharp and can easily cut through skin and tissue; therefore, extra caution should always be exercised while cutting, and hands should be kept away from the cutting edge. To prevent the knife from slipping, it is recommended to cut on a stable, non-slip surface and avoid excessive force, which may cause uncontrolled blade movement.
Leaving the knife on the edge of a table, countertop, or in easily accessible places—especially where children are present—poses a significant safety risk. The knife should always be properly secured after use, ideally by placing it on a stable surface or storing it in designated knife blocks, protective sheaths, or magnetic strips. The knife should never be used for tasks it is not designed for, such as opening cans or prying objects, as this can damage the tool and lead to dangerous accidents.
A dull blade increases the risk of injury, as it requires more force and is more likely to slip from the material being cut. Therefore, it is essential to sharpen the knife regularly to maintain optimal sharpness. Additionally, proper cleaning and drying of the knife are necessary to prevent corrosion and bacterial growth. Periodic inspection of the handle and blade is recommended to check for cracks, chips, or looseness. If any damage is detected, the knife should be repaired or replaced immediately.
When using the knife, focus solely on the task at hand—avoid talking on the phone, watching television, or other distractions while cutting. Ensure proper lighting in the workspace for better visibility and control. Please note that some countries or regions have laws restricting the ownership and carrying of knives. Before purchasing or using this knife, verify that its use is legal in your location according to applicable regulations.
Following these safety guidelines will help ensure safe and effective knife use, minimizing the risk of accidents and extending the lifespan of the tool.

Michele “Molletta” Pensato, an Italian knife designer with a passion for archaeology, has transformed his love of adventure into the high-end craft of knife design. His career began with an archaeological dig, where he realized the need for a durable knife. Known for his innovative approach to materials and experiments with heat treatment, Pensato has won numerous awards. His designs for lionSTEEL, such as the popular T5 and the award-winning SR11, are distinguished by their practicality and typically Italian rounded shapes. Knife design, although just a hobby for him, has resulted in significant contributions to the lionSTEEL collection.
M390 - a martensitic high-performance chrome steel produced by powder metallurgy. Due to its alloy concept, it has extremely high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Due to its high wear resistance, it adequately maintains the shape of the edge, so the blade stays sharp for a very long time (requiring minimal maintenance). Another of the advantages is resistance to the formation of “wire” during sharpening. The steel has a high chromium content of 20.0% (Cr) doped with 1.9% carbon (C), vanadium 4.0% (V), and is hardened between 59-61 HRC. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter's CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
PVD + Stonewashed - durability of the blade surface and cutting edge was increased by PVD ((Physical Vapor Deposition) method consisting in deposition of thin layers from the gas phase and subjected to masking minor scratches finish Stone Washed. Applied coating has a very high hardness, which significantly increases the resistance of the blade to abrasive wear.
Blade - Drop point with well-marked belly. Small thickness of the blade in combination with high, flat grind gives perfect geometry of the cutting edge and extreme cutting efficiency. Double Crown ball bearing system supports smooth operation of the opening mechanism. The entire system is locked with a proven and popular frame lock with a steel liner protecting against wiping the lock face.
ReF - (Removable Flipper System) in the folder, it is possible to unscrew the Removable Flipper System lever (unscrew the flipper fin, then insert the second screw located in the box) and open the blade with both hands. This is important in countries where there is a ban on the use of knives with one-handed opening blades in public places.
Double Crown - the ball bearing system is an evolution of the standard mechanism. It improves blade rotation, allows faster, even smoother blade opening and keeps the blade stable in a straight line.
Handle - black solid aluminum facings, attached to a spacer called backspacer / facings connector. Solid® titanium clip allows the knife to be carried in tip-up position. The clip is bolted to the frame with a tungsten carbide screw/glass striker. A flat screw is also included if you do not want to use the glass striker. There is a lanyard hole in the back of the liners, a hole for the cord.
In set:
- Myto Aluminum folder
- 6/8 torx wrench
- additional flipper screw
- additional flat screw for clip attachment
- elegant cardboard gift box, fully recyclable
