CPM S35VN - American martensitic stainless steel with hardness of 59-61 HRC, one of the best steels for blade production. Manufactured by US Crucible Industries according to the Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process. Designed to provide improved strength over CPM S30V, while maintaining corrosion resistance at the highest level. The chemical composition has been balanced so that it consists of 0.5% niobium carbides along with 3.0% vanadium and 14.0% chromium carbides. Replacing some of the niobium carbides with vanadium carbides makes it about 15-20% harder than S30V without losing wear resistance. It is also easier to machine and polish. The improved CPM strength of S35VN provides better resistance to edge chipping. The CPM process produces a very uniform, high-quality steel with excellent dimensional stability, grindability and toughness compared to steels produced by conventional methods.
Blade - drop point has an excellent satin finish. The generous belly extends the length of the cutting edge in relation to the length of the blade, converging toward a needle-sharp tip. The high concave Hollow Grind provides powerful slicing performance while the aggressively hollow drop point is suitable for piercing and precision work. Ceramic ball bearings support the smooth operation of the blade's opening mechanism, which can be opened in two ways, with a double-sided pin in the blade or a quick flipper flipper (index-finger flipper). Thumb ramp, a notched ramp under the thumb and Finger choil, a notch under the index finger for ease of use. All locked with proven liner lock.
Handle - olive green liners made of micarta, a composite material made of linen and synthetic resin, screwed to the steel frame of the knife. To reduce weight, both sides were bolted together using steel spacers. The simplicity and solidity of the construction ensure many years of use. Pivot axis with stylized Civivi logo. Two-position (left / right) deep carry clip allows you to discreetly carry the knife in your pocket in tip-up position. Above the clip there is a lanyard hole for attaching the safety line.
