C.Jul. Herbertz GmbH, a legendary company in the knife world with an excellent reputation. The name refers to the founder of the company. Carl Julius Herbertz founded the company in 1868 in the city of Solingen, which has been the center of German knife and cutting tool manufacturing since the Middle Ages. Selektion line is the highest series of knives by Herbertz.
AISI 440C (American Iron and Steel Institute) high carbon (min. 0.95%) martensitic alloy stainless steel with a hardness of 57-59 HRC with impressively high strength and corrosion resistance, containing min. 16% chromium. The high carbon content generates chromium carbide compounds for wear resistance and edge retention after hardening. Due to its high hardness, the steel is suitable for production of cutting tools, knife and scissors blades and medical instruments.
Dlade - Drop point finished with Stonewash method to minimize glare. Small thickness of blade combined with high concave grind gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. The pads support the smooth operation of the opening mechanism of the wedge, which can be opened with a pin (Thumb Stud). On the back of the upper jimping wedge, a notched thumb rest. The whole is locked with solid AXIS lock.
Handle - black G10 plastic facings (fiberglass pressed under pressure with synthetic resin) mounted to steel frame. Chamfered edges of the facings eliminate sharp edges for comfort and sure grip. Prominent Finger Groove arched undercut for index finger makes it easier to control the knife. Two-position (right/left) metal deep carry clip allows you to carry the knife discreetly in your pocket in tip-up position. The back of the handle features a lanyard hole, a hole for a safety or decorative cord.
