Brad Zinker - after graduating from college with a degree in art photography, working in the industry, he stumbled into the world of handmade custom knives. His fascination with knives led him to start making his own knives. Combining classic and modern, he creates functional EDCs with clean lines, shapes and transitions.
Nitro-V a new chrome-based martensitic stainless knife steel introduced by New Jersey Steel Baron (NJSB). The manufacturer used the existing superior AEB-L knife steel and upgraded it with nitrogen and vanadium to improve edge performance and achieve high hardness and extreme corrosion resistance, especially critical in the marine industry and humid environments. Nitro V can be used in diving knives because of its stain and corrosion resistance. The recommended working hardness is between 58-62HRC, and it has very good impact strength compared to other steels. It is harder than stainless powder steels such as M390, Elmax and S35VN. Therefore, Nitro-V will be a good fit for knives that require good strength.
Blade - Drop point type with well defined belly finished in Stonewashed method, covered with gray coating. Small thickness of the blade in combination with high, flat grind gives perfect geometry of the cutting edge and extreme cutting efficiency. Ceramic ball bearings aid in the smooth operation of the blade's opening mechanism, which can be opened with the thumb using a quick flipper (index-finger flipper). When opened, the flipper creates a mini-guard to prevent your hand from slipping on the blade. On the back of the upper jimping blade, a notched thumb rest. The whole is locked with a solid liner lock.
Handle - made of carbon fiber with Marbled Blue Carbon Fiber pattern. Chamfered cover edges eliminate sharp edges for comfort and sure grip. Open-backed design attached with steel spacer sleeves reduces weight and makes cleaning easier. The pivot is adorned with a stylized Civivi brand logo. One-position right-handed metal deep carry clip allows you to carry the knife discreetly in your pocket in tip-up position.
Case - the knife is packaged in a zippered soft nylon case with the manufacturer's logo for safe storage and transport of the folder.
