IBEX-8.OL a handmade, compact knife from the Spanish Muela manufactory. The goal was to create a handy but reliable knife with low weight for any outdoor use. Versatile, perfectly balanced with a full tang design with a blade made of X50CrMoV15 steel, it provides tremendous cutting power. Targeted at bushcraft, survival and hunting enthusiasts.
X50CrMoV15 (1.4116) - molybdenum-vanadium high carbon martensitic stainless steel, highly resistant to corrosion and wear. Used in the manufacture of knives, high-end cutlery and surgical instruments. It is characterized by a fairly high, for stainless steels, hardness of 56-58 HRC. The chemical composition of the steel was enriched by doping 15.0% Chromium, 0.80% Molybdenum, 0.20% Vanadium.
Blade - Drop Point type, 3.6 mm thickness with good mechanical properties and long-lasting sharpness. Smooth blade (Plain type) was made with concave cut (Hollow Grind). Satin Finish (semi-matt) that eliminates glare. Finger Choil notched profiled undercutting finger between the handle and the cutting edge makes it easier to control the knife.
Handle - covered with olive wood cladding with a unique design. Profiled under the hand provides a perfect grip during work. Spine Jimping increases comfort and grip.
Sheath - hand-stitched, made of quality brown cowhide with embossed manufacturer's logo. The edges of the case are stitched with decorative thread. Fastened with a Prym type snap. The belt attachment allows the knife to be carried in an upright position.
