ARK H-2 Plain, specially designed for personal defense (Personal Defense Knife) by US Army combat veteran John Shirley's ARK (Always Ready Knife). This lightweight and extremely slim knife with a fixed blade of full tang construction is made of completely moisture- and rust-resistant innovative H-1 steel.
While on a mission in Afghanistan, Shirley learned of the huge number of U.S. personnel who were victims of sexual assault, mostly while bathing. Using his knowledge of martial arts, he designed an extremely effective Neck Knife designed for self-defense. Compact dimensions, low weight and a flat sheath suitable for hanging around the neck allow you to have it with you at all times!
H-2 - improved austenitic stainless knife steel is the successor to H-1 steel, produced by Japanese steel foundry Myodo Foundry. High-chromium, low-carbon (rolled without heat treatment) stainless steel contains 13.73% chromium, 0.09% carbon, 0.17% copper and 0.06% nitrogen. The knife can stay in fresh water as well as sea water, and will not rust even when left wet after use. The result was achieved by adding chromium and nickel to the steel, and replacing some of the carbon with nitrogen. All internal parts of the steel have undergone special treatment, making them resistant to rust and salt.
Blade - 2 mm thick with an aggressive deeply curved Clip Point profile. The curved cutting edge has an impressive efficiency of inflicting cuts despite the compact size of the wedge. The Plain smooth blade is derived with a low concave grind (Hollow grind). The round SpyderHole cutout increased the thumb support hump - ramp - on the back, allowing efficient knife handling.
Handle - covered with non-slip bi-directional textured grips (Bi-Directional Texturing) strengthening the grip even with wet hands. Made of FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon), a fiberglass-reinforced nylon plastic. In the back of the Handle an enlarged hole (lanyard hole) for the cord.
Sheath - made of hardened Kydex polymer protects the knife from falling out. Holsters and cases made of it are characterized by resistance to scratches and chemicals. It comes with a ball chain that allows you to hang the sheath with the knife around your neck.
